Why join AEGIS?

A career springboard

Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships are among the most respected and best-paid PhD positions in Europe. AEGIS sits where two fast-growing fields meet: datacenters and AI infrastructure on one side, energy and power systems on the other. Few people today can work across both, so the skills you build here are scarce and in high demand. Our graduates will be ready for roles at cloud and datacenter operators, energy companies, grid operators, telecom companies, and in academia.

What you get

Training beyond your own PhD

Besides your research project, you take part in network-wide training worth 18 ECTS. The three training schools mix technical courses with transferable skills: research writing and presentation, intellectual property and patents, moving research to market, and entrepreneurship. The courses are taught by both universities and companies in the network, including Dell, Ericsson, Shell, Deutsche Telekom, and EPRI. The third school (September 2029) centers on innovation, commercialization, and entrepreneurship.

An international network

You join a group of 15 Doctoral Candidates (DCs) working toward one shared goal across 8 countries. The network brings together 10 universities and companies as beneficiaries and 9 associated partners. You meet the whole group at the training schools and the final conference, and you build a professional network that lasts well beyond the PhD.

You can also join the worldwide Marie Curie Alumni Association, a large community of current and former MSCA researchers.
