How to apply
What to submit
- A CV (maximum 3 pages).
- A motivation letter (maximum 1 page): say which position or positions you want and why. If you apply to more than one, give your order of preference.
- Your BSc and MSc transcripts.
- Optional but encouraged: a link to a code repository, or a one-page summary of a project or thesis.
- Contact details of two referees.
Where to apply
There are two ways to apply:
- Each host institution will publish an official vacancy for its position. As these go live, we link them from the position pages.
- You can also apply now, or register your interest, through the central AEGIS application portal, which is linked on every position page. Name the position or positions you want.
First check that you meet the eligibility rules.
The process
- Screening — we check eligibility and review your application.
- Interview — an online interview, which may include a short discussion of your own work.
- Offer — made by the host institution.
Applications are open now and reviewed as they arrive. Start dates run from February to September 2027.
Equal opportunities
AEGIS follows open, transparent, merit-based selection, in line with the European Charter for Researchers. We especially welcome applications from women and from groups that are underrepresented in research. If you need a remote interview or any reasonable adjustment, tell us and we will arrange it.
