Open positions
AEGIS will recruit 15 Doctoral Candidates (DCs) — fully funded, 36-month PhD positions at leading European universities and companies. Each position has its own research project, host, and pair of secondments. You can see all 15 below.
Applications are open now and are reviewed as they arrive, through the central AEGIS application portal (linked on every position page). We aim to fill every position by April 2027, and the latest start date is September 2027, so that all Doctoral Candidates can attend the first training school.
What we offer
- A salary set by the EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions: a living allowance of about €4,010 per month (adjusted by a country correction factor for your host country), a mobility allowance of €710 per month, and, if you qualify, a family allowance of €660 per month. These are gross EU contributions; your employer deducts taxes and social charges, so the exact net salary depends on the host country.
- A full employment contract with social security, not a stipend.
- Enrolment in a PhD program at a top university.
- Two funded secondments inside the network — one in industry, one in academia.
- A travel and research budget, and a network-wide training program (see Why join AEGIS?).
Who we are looking for
You have, or are close to finishing, an MSc in Computing, Electronics, Energy Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field. The projects cover computer systems and cloud, power systems and energy informatics, optimization and control, and machine learning and data science. Read the full eligibility and profile.
The 15 positions
You may apply to more than one position — just tell us your order of preference in your motivation letter. See how to apply.
